I have provided a link below;

http://www.ato.gov.au/businesses/content.aspx?menuid=0&doc=/content/23308.htm&page=4&H4

If your employee is being paid leave loading along with his/her holiday pay, it is treated as follows:

The first $320 in a year of income does not need to have any PAYG amounts withheld as it is already factored into the PAYG withholding tax tables and is taken into account when determining the amount to withhold from normal pay every pay period. Any amount over $320 should be added to, and included in, the holiday pay and treated as above.

Leave loading payments of $320 or less which do not have an amount withheld from them still form part of the employee's assessable income. This means that you should include these amounts in the 'gross payments' on the employee's PAYG Payment Summary.

Where an employee is taking leave and there is leave loading, you must use the appropriate tax table (weekly, fortnightly or monthly) and within that tax table ensure that you use a column which states 'with leave loading' in order to calculate the PAYG withholding amount.

I hope this now takes the mystery out of Tax on Leave Loading in the e-PayDay Payroll Program.

Welcome to 2012

Welcome to 2012, I hope your Christmas was an enjoyable one and you had a great New Year. The idea being that when you processed your payrun, the total amounts of Employee Tax (PAYG) and Superannuation (SG) that had been calculated could be allocated to holding accounts. I thought the idea had great merit so I promptly set about designing this feature to be implemented in our next Major Release (Version 3).

In Version 3 you will be able to setup separate Account Details in e-PayDay's FAST-Bank™ feature for both PAYG and SG. After processing your payrun, all the employees totals of PAYG and SG will be stored and available when you produce your FAST-Bank (ABA) file.

When transferring your employee's net pays to their accounts, you will also be able to automatically transfer the calculated PAYG and SG to your company holding accounts. These accounts could be structured in such a way with your financial institution to earn a higher amount of interest than you currently obtain on your normal business transaction account. When it comes time to pay your PAYG and SG you have been earning a higher rate of interest on the funds and best of all, the funds are readily available!

So keep your great ideas coming, they help make e-PayDay® a better Payroll Program and hopefully make your payday a lot simplier!

PC User BEST BUY Award, July 2011

We are so pleased to announce that e-PayDay® Payroll Software won the PC User BEST BUY Award, July 2011.
