The Fred Hollows Foundation was established to continue the work of Professor Fred Hollows, who had made commitments to project work in Eritrea, Indigenous Australia and Vietnam. Following Fred's early work in the area, The Foundation has gone on to work with countries throughout Africa, Asia (South and South East) and Australia focusing on blindness prevention and Australian Indigenous health. Peninsula Animal Aid Association Incorporated is a non-profit voluntary charity established in 1971. PAA is an animal refuge shelter that rescues dogs and cats in Redcliffe north of Brisbane. The animals come in as strays .. some from council pounds .. some are surrendered or abandoned .. others are saved from cruel living conditions .. often abused and neglected .. all these animals are placed into wonderful new homes with permanent kind loving families. The aim of the 4KQ Golden Casket Variety Special Children's Christmas Party is to provide in excess of 3,000 children with a day they will never forget. The children come from four major groups: The terminally ill, the intellectually impaired, physically impaired and also the underprivileged who may be suffering from domestic violence or physical abuse.
